The Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship partners with MAZE

In March, we hosted Arianne de Rothschild Fellowship for its Winter Bootcamp at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Every year, the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship nominates a group of social entrepreneurs to become ambassadors of social impact and cross-cultural dialogue. Each cohort meets for a summer and winter bootcamps. This year, for the first time, the winter bootcamp was held in Lisbon. The bootcamp was hosted by ouselves, MAZE, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Sair da Casca.

It was a week of collaboration, exchange, networking, and discovery among 21 extraordinary fellows. The Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship fellows spent an eye-opening week discovering the local ecosystem in Portugal. Here’s the result:

The Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship was born out of the recognition of three things. One, there is an urgent need to bring innovation to the field of cross-cultural dialogue; two, that a business mindset can be of great value to build tangible impact; and three that there is an exciting opportunity to better expose social entrepreneurs to the knowledge and analytical frameworks offered by social sciences.

The AdR fellowship is supported by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations (EDRF) promote a modern view of philanthropy that centers on the the dignity and empowerment of each individual. Rather than simply making donations, they engage actively with their partners in driving social innovation. EDRF focus on sustainable programs in education, arts and culture, social entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue and health research.
