Hello friend,
Thank you for being there. We appreciate your time and interest in learning about our work.
We are evolving at Maze and going through a beautiful transition. 2025 will be in our books as the conveyor of that passage of time.
In recent years, our focus has been on implementing a range of projects that advance our mission to prove that investing in impact is the greatest economic opportunity of our time.
This focus was the natural result of launching the first social impact bonds in 2015, thematic growth programmes since 2017, and our first venture capital fund in 2019, among many other initiatives we shared with you in our annual impact reports.
Last year was different.
We deliberately looked inwards and allocated resources to designing new, exciting projects that will further contribute to our mission in the coming decade.
2000 hours. The time our team dedicated to designing a social housing fund to house people who otherwise sleep on the streets of our beloved city of Lisbon. This initiative is carried out in close partnership with Crescer, a long-standing organisation working on the ground.
Our efforts also went into crafting the investment strategy for our new venture capital fund, which invests in science-based healthcare and climate ventures. As part of this, we've laid the groundwork for our in-house-built platform to deliver the best experience for founders when partnering with us.
We intentionally paused to define internal guidelines for the ethical use of AI as we embedded the latest tools into our workflows. This ensures that our objectives remain unchanged: improving our impact, enabling innovation, and making us more efficient. The benefit is that we can use our time on value-added activities, resulting in better experiences for everyone who works with us.
Alongside this work, we continued to deliver the mandates and projects assigned to us by our partners, investors, clients, and founders. We are proud of what we achieved in 2025.
Today, we share with you the labour of our love over the past 365 days, with the renewed commitment to work hard to bring the seeds we planted to life.
